Fabulous Fall Happenings

Just a few pictures for you to see what we've been up to since our summer trip to Lake Powell.
This is Lake Powell in September. I guess you can say we really love Lake Powell. This time, it was just Larry and I and the Pontoon. This was our timeshare week, but because the houseboat started to sink for the previous owner it had to be pulled off the lake. We enjoyed camping instead.

It's all about the food with us!

Shaving in cool morning water- burr!

Followed by a sumptuous gourmet breakfast on the waterfront.
Wow! Eating again?

After breakfast the captain sails away.

After a long day in the sun we came back to shore and enjoyed a splendid sunset-
the kind that brings people back to Lake Powell again and again.

All night the tent was beat by fierce winds.
We woke up covered in sand and the potty tent, on the right, was trashed.

Summer Fun

July 2012
Some of the family enjoying a shady cavern in Lake Powell

August 2012 Vacation in Maui
Ahihi Bay was our favorite snorkling spot. An abundance of colorful coral and fish made this the perfect acquarium experience. We enjoyed staying in Chuck and Elaine's fabulous timeshare, touring the entire island and dining on the veranda.

Our traveling companions, The Macombers and Larry dine on the veranda.

August Camping at Lake Powell

Pretty desolate and lonely until you watch the sunsets. It's always about the food with us!

Halloween Family Fun

Aspen Elementary hosted their 30th year anniversary on October 28. They had a fund raiser with auctioned gift baskets. I selected the "Mexican Fiesta" basket, and the "Halloween Baking" basket.
Here I am with one of my prizes.

October 29 Family Halloween Party at Mike and Shellee's

We watched a movie produced by Nate, "Why Do There Have to be Zombies?" Had a costume photo shoot, ate taco salad, sugar cookies and cup-cakes. Yum! Played the games: laser string-maze, pumpkin bowling and bust the giant pumpkin pinata.
We had a great time- especially these guys!
The Zombie, The Nerd and The Cool Old Man

Pinkalicious, Haylee. Ethan as Lighing McQueen and Pumpkin Carter

We tried to get Ethan in the picture, but he ran away screaming. It was just too much for the poor kid. Notice that Haylee is in costume number two.
Christine goes through the "laser string-maze" and tries to not touch it with any part of her body. She made it after three attempts. G-ma in the background has fun too.
Tyler dressed as a tourist in Hawaii, just so he could wear shorts. Pretty ingenious if you ask me.

Provo Canyon Displays Fall Colors

Thursday, October 20
Visiting the Provo Canyon this week during Fall break reminded me that I did not see much color last week in Rhode Island. These pictures are for Julie because you know you miss the mountains.

Grandbaby number 11 arrives on schedule

On September 19, Carter James Schwartz, joined Mike and Shellee's family. He's a very cute baby and looks a bit like his sister, Haylee and brother, Ethan. Here's Carter with proud papa, Mike.

Summer Time Fun!

In July we rented a mega slide, 60 feet tall by 50 feet long. We celebrated the end of Summer with the Stevens and Schwartz Families. BBQ for lunch and dinner, no one wanted to go home!

The Schwartz Family Campout July 15 and 16, 2011

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! Actually only a few flies and plenty of mosquitos showed up for the party. We prepared a great BBQ dinner, campfire, smores. This was our last whole family gathering before Julie and Adam left for RI.
